Bob was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut and remains in the Greater New Haven area. He took up photography in his teens with a pocket sized Minolta 16 and never lost his passion for the art form. Learning with film, and with that, no do-overs, Bob quickly understood the importance of making each frame count. This instilled, by necessity, a sense of planning and preparation before each shot. It also helped in developing his "eye" for photography. Over time Bob moved forward with the latest technology, advancing to fully automatic, full frame, mirrorless Canon cameras. but still with the same old fashioned work ethos.
Bob looks at photography as capturing art, rather than creating it. While familiar with post-production software, he minimizes its use and tries to keep the image as true to life as possible, unless choosing to embrace the abstract. Ultimately, Bob strives for what he believes is the best that photography has to offer; to freeze a moment in time, tell a story, evoke an emotion, store a memory, all this and so much more.
Married with one daughter, Bob built his career working for the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller. Photography challenges and satisfies his creative side, while at the same time gives him moments of quiet and relaxation.
