The Moon, our only natural satellite, is a perfect photographic subject. Visible most days and available to all, it rises and sets on schedule as it moves across the sky, from a virtually invisible New Moon, to a bright Full Moon and back to New. The cycle then repeats itself about every 28 days. 

Our Sun, the center of our Solar System, gives us warmth, and life. Literally taking us out of darkness and welcoming the new day. A staple of photography, caught either rising or setting, it is the star of the photo. As a supporting player, its light gives shadows and mood, enhancing the photo.

At its basic definition, landscape photography denotes horizontal framing, either standard sized or wide panoramic. A more in-depth definitions reveals that "scapes" can be preceded by Land, Sea, Sky or City and can include natural or manmade vistas.  

Traveling to new lands, being in awe of all that is out there; there is no question of the draw traveling has. But, sometimes you can find beauty and inspiration near home. Architecural and geological variety, urban to rural settings, changing seasons, all just waiting to be captured.
