The cover photo shows a pre-dawn crescent moon over the Fair Haven Heights section of New Haven, CT. The Grand Avenue Bridge and shoreline buildings are reflected beautifully in the still Quinnipiac River.
I hope you enjoy going through my photos as much as I enjoy capturing them. While one of my favorite subjects, bordering on obsession, is the Moon, I do not limit myself to that and other heavenly objects.
Features and images will constantly be added and changed so check back occasionally to see what's new.
The Moon, our only natural satellite, is a perfect photographic subject. Visible most days and available to all, it rises and sets on schedule as it moves across the sky, from a virtually invisible New Moon, to a bright Full Moon and back to New. The cycle then repeats itself about every 28 days.
Our Sun, the center of our Solar System, gives us warmth, and life. Literally taking us out of darkness and welcoming the new day. A staple of photography, caught either rising or setting, it is the star of the photo. As a supporting player, its light gives shadows and mood, enhancing the photo.
